Classic Representation is responsible for the sales and marketing of a unique portfolio of luxury experiences in Southern Africa, East Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. We are committed to keeping our Classics portfolio small and limit the number of clients we retain. In this way, we are able to give each client our individual attention. Before committing to a new client, we ensure that we can continue to deliver exceptional levels of service and attention to existing clients. We work closely with our properties to develop customised marketing plans and PR strategies.
Functions performed by Classic Representation:
- International Sales Calls: Undertaking regular sales meetings with agents in the UK, Europe and USA.
- International Trade Shows: Attending Indaba (Durban, South Africa), ILTM (Cannes, France) and WTM (London, UK).
- Proactive Office Based Marketing: Taking the initiative and producing high quality promotional material for our clients and looking for new marketing opportunities
- Media: Seeking out media opportunities for our clients in the print media - both high end glossy magazines and the broadsheets, through regular contact with journalists and editors
- Client information: Maintaining the individual client information for the secure agent site – rate sheets, fact sheets, access information, and much more
- Secure Agent Website: Downloading and uploading key information and ensuring that all information for the clients we oversee is totally up to date and correct at all times
- Brochure Mailing: Ongoing co-ordination of individual international client brochure mailing
- Promotions: Creating suggested itineraries, promotional packages and special offers on behalf of all our clients.
- Inspections Trips and Agent Educationals: Arranging inspection trips at the individual properties for top international agents and safari wholesalers. Co-ordinating the pre arranged agent educational trips on an annual basis
- Newsletters: Regular updates to clients and international contacts through newsletters every second week
- Database: Maintaining our dynamic database which currently has over 5000 international contacts of safari specialists and luxury service providers.
- Reports: Writing regular individual reports for all the clients on the activities we have undertaken and the sales meetings we have arranged
- Client Support: Being on hand at all times to assist clients with marketing issues and other situations at their individual hotels and lodges
- Crisis Management and Problem solving: Acting in a positive manner when we deal with a crisis (cyclones, floods, accidents etc) and also liaising with the clients and assisting with solving problems that they encounter with agent and media
- International Contact Support: Both our Johannesburg and Edinburgh offices act as a point of contact by handling all queries that come through the offices from agents, media and consumers.
- Functions: Arranging functions such as cocktail parties, media lunches / dinners and other promotional events
